    • Local people see there is a great need for the community to help orphans. One teacher told us she knew through women’s groups of five hundred children who were orphans locally. These kids are often cared for by elderly and frail grandparents because there is no-one else to help.

    		If it is possible we will sponsor and support children who have lost parents in the homes of relatives to prevent any extra trauma from that they have already experienced.

    We have the opportunity to sponsor the building of a number of     small family units with house parents and not more than 12 children at each ‘home’ based on three acres of land donated at a local farm.

    We would like to sponsor the provision of free education for the children up to the age of 18 years.

    It is Lemon Tree Foundation’s aim to support and encourage these children with further education or local employment.

    This project is, however, still undergoing discussion.
